Dahanu Rubber Gloves Mfg Co is one of the oldest rubber hand gloves manufacturing companies in India. Its wide range of products and strict adherence to quality standards has given the company a solid reputation among customers. In an interview, FOUNDER SHRI KALYANJI VIRJI SHAH of the company, shares its success mantra, its focus on quality and future vision. Excerpts:
Q. Dahanu Rubber is a known name in the manufacturing of rubber hand gloves. Take us through the establishment and journey of the company.
The manufacturing of rubber hand gloves was started in the year 1968 by Mr. Kalyanji Virji Shah. A visionary and leader, he started manufacturing surgical rubber hand gloves at a time when there were very few players in that industry. This is how the journey of our popular and flagship brand, Diamond, began at Agashi Village near Virar in Mumbai.
In 1984, we moved to Dahanu, Maharashtra for bigger space and with new technology we started manufacturing surgical, post-mortem, pharmaceutical and industrial rubber hand gloves. Today, Dahanu Rubber Gloves Mfg Co. has established its name in the industry and is a renowned manufacturer, trader and supplier of a broad array of premium quality rubber gloves, including industrial, acid and alkali proof gloves, electrical shock proof gloves and finger cots.
Our hand gloves are well-known across the market for their smooth texture, exceptional finish and resistance to acids and alkalis. We have a strong client portfolio pan India and supply to several state electricity boards, MNCs and government organizations.
Q. Update us on your focus on quality control and testing.
We adhere to a strict quality assurance policy. Our hand gloves are made by taking quality approved production material in strict adherence to the industry approved parameters. Dahanu Rubber is the first company in India to provide ERDA test certificates for electrical shockproof gloves. We have an in-house laboratory to perform all the acceptance testing of the electrical shockproof gloves. To ensure quality of products upon delivery, the hand gloves are packed with tamperproof packaging to avoid any damage during transportation.
Q. How do you ensure customer satisfaction?
To suit the varied demands of our clients, we offer products in a number of specifications. Courtesy our large production facility and experienced team members, we are able to cater to the bulk demand of our products in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Q. Tell us about Victor Imports?
In the year 2010, the third generation joined the business and started importing different kinds of rubber hand gloves. With this, Victor Imports was started and today it is one of the largest importers of household,examination and surgical gloves in India and is an OEM for more than 50 brands. It deals in latex household gloves, latex industrial gloves, nitrile chemical gloves, surgical rubber hand gloves, latex examination gloves, nitrile examination gloves and vinyl examination gloves. With the largest setup for storage and packing in the segment, Victor Imports has per day packing capacity of more than 30,000 pair of gloves. It is the only company in the segment that deals in medical and industrial gloves in big volumes
Q. What would you describe as your competitive edge?
Our emphasis on on-time delivery and high-quality, premium products places us ahead of our competitors. Each one of our offerings is manufactured with utmost sincerity under strict adherence to the norms of quality which we have adopted from most reputed international authorities. Gloves we offer are tested and examined with strictness so that they remain true to the respective properties on which we commit. The raw materials we use to make our
products are procured from some highly dedicated vendors who promise that only best quality is catered by them. Further, the offerings are precisely designed as per the standard specifications so that we can assure that our products are usable by a large number of customers with ease.
Q. What are your future plans and vision for the company?
We plan to increase Dahanu Rubber’s manufacturing capacity for electrical gloves and obtain CE certification for the same.
